The Romanian Government would reactivate the privatisation program "aggressively", according to the letter of intent of the Romanian Government to the IMF. The first targets are the privatization of railroad service company CFR Marfa by April 2011 and the liquidation of Termoelectrica by June 2011 with the separation of viable activities and the closure of the rest.

The Authority for State Assets Recovery will also sell its minority stakes in at least 150 companies. The letter also specifies that the Economy Ministry would starte selling its stakes in various companies.
