The government plans to cut, starting June 1, the financial aid offered for mothers at their child's birth, worth 230 lei and the financial aid for those getting married for the first time, worth 200 euro. These rights can be claimed by end of October but only for those registered by June 1.
According to the Romanian news agency Mediafax, the measures are included in an emergency ordinance that sees the cut of transports benefits for retired people and diminishing scholarships for students and pupils.
The project reads that in 2010 there will be no aid for those families urging emergency aid due to calamities.
