Romania needs to reduce its public deficit, as urged buy the IMF and other accredited international organizations and enlarge its private sector, US Ambassador to Bucharest, Mark Gitenstein declared. According to the American official, quoted by the Romanian news agency Agerpres, only 22% of Romania's population works in the private sector while in other countries like Germany, 43% work in the private sector, 36% in Ukraine and 40% in Slovenia.

The priority of the US is too see Romania become an efficient democracy, sustained by an active free market, transparent and efficient. To succeed, Romania needs to decrease its budgetary deficit and enlarge its private sector, US Ambassador to Bucharest Mark Gitenstein declared. Romania is only one percent before Moldova, that starts to develop its market economy, Gitenstein said.

He added that after the Revolution, Romania started to develop an economy which it can sustain on its own.
