Gazeta Sporturilor [Sports Gazette, NB], will publish the first 3D newspaper in Romania on Friday, July 2. The newspaper can be read with the help of special spectacles, which are going to be distributed with the paper. The 3D publication is the first of this kind to be issued in Romania, only two months after Le Dernere Heure (Belgium) became the first newspaper in Europe to be issued in 3D version. A similar initiative came in June from British daily The Sun.

According to the paper's representatives, Gazeta Sporturilor's 3D edition, dedicated to the World Football Cup 2010, will be issued in 100,000 copies, each containing special spectacles, with the usual price.

With the help of the special glasses, readers can see the photos and certain advertisement in 3D. According to the paper's representatives, the photos and ads have been adapted by the editors and by the advertisement department. The project has been carried out by GSP (the publication) and supported by Bergenbier (beer company), which had its 3D ads featured in the paper.
