The government estimates high unemployment rates by the end of the year, due to the restructuring process undertaken by the government, and an increase of unemployment aid spending, PM Boc declared on Sunday, quoted by the Romanian news agency Mediafax. He explained that the decrease of the unemployment rate in the last months is just a coincidence, determined by the summer, when there are temporary jobs on the market.

However, PM Boc underlined that Romania's unemployment rate is below the average of other EU member states. According to official data, the unemployment rate in June was 7.44% compared to 7.65% in May and the total number of registered unemployed was 680,782.
