Romania has enough money for salaries and pensions and this year it has all premises to exit the recession considering the budget revenues and indicators, Romania’s Finance minister Gheorghe Ialomitianu declared, quoted by the Romanian news agency Mediafax. We have enough money for this year and for 2012, Ialomiatianu said.

He added that the IMF and the EC appreciates the very good results Romania obtained during the standby agreement and added that VAT revenues ensured the payment of the state’s debt to the private sector and the maintenance of the budgetary target at the end of 2010.

The budgetary deficit registered last year was of 33.3 billion lei, about 6.5% of GDP below the limit set with the IMF of 34.6 billion lei.
