The current account deficit of the balance of payments increased last year by 5.0% compared to 209 to 5.15 billion euro, Romania’s National Central Bank data reports. In 2009 the current account deficit was 4.91 billion euro.

The increase of the current account deficit was determined by the increase of negative amounts from revenues and services. Therefore, the deficit of the revenue balance amounted in the mentioned period to 1.96 billion euro a 3.04% increase compared to 2009 while the services balance registered a deficit of 6.6 billion euro compared to 7.16 billion euro in the similar period, last year.
