The German group TUI is displeased with the prices and services that can be found in Romanian seaside resorts and Romanian Tourism minister Elena Udrea promised the German tour operator she would try to solve some of the issues, news agency Mediafax reports.

Udrea was quoted as saying at the Berlin international tourism fair on Wednesday that solutions had to be found so that the Romanian seaside be operated by TUI from now on, as the German company's standards are "rather high" as compared with what can be found on the Romanian Black Sea coast.

The minister visited the Romanian stand at the fair and attended a meeting with representatives with TUI.

She said on the occasion that the national interest should come before the local interests of some hotel operators, in order to lure tourists to the Romanian seaside.
