Romanian citizens localities where the administration was not elected in the first ballot will return to voting on Sunday. Until then, the electoral campaign is officially over, any news, clips and interviews being banned in all traditional media.

The main battle is the one for Bucharest, where Democrat-Liberal Vasile Blaga runs against former Social - Democrat, now independent candidate Sorin Oprescu. Other major cities where mayors were not elected in the first round are Iasi, Bacau, Sfantu Gheorghe, Galati and Ploiesti.
Former enemies, Social Democrats and Liberals are now allied in 11 counties, attempting to isolate the Democrat - Liberals, the party supporting president Basescu.
