Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu nominated Mariana Campeanu, president of the National House of Pensions, for the vacant Labor Minister office. The nomination will be sent to president Basescu, who must first sign the naming decree. The Labor Minister office is vacant after the resignation of the former minister, Paul Pacuraru, currently under investigation for alleged corruption acts.

In case the president refuses the nomination, Liberals have other two options: state secretary Theodora Bertzi and Bogdan Jansen, Caritas hospital manager.
