"If a winner exists tonight, that winner is the Romanian Right", said the president of the Democrat-Liberal Party, Emil Boc, after the exit poll results were announced. Boc thanked the party supporters and emphasized that the score tonight is the best in the party's history.
Boc's main statements:
- All political parties failed to gather over 50%+1 of the votes, so that it would be able to form the Government by itself;
- Romanians voted for the Right and rejected the Left-wing policies suggested as solution for the nearing crisis;
- The Democrat Liberal Party is obligated to do everything in its power to make sure the Right policies are imposed by the future government.
According to INSOMAR polls, Democrat-Liberals won 31.1% of the votes for the Senate and 30.9% for the House of Deputies.
