The Social Democrat and the Democrat-Liberals finished negotiating the structure of the future Government, which will be formed by a Prime Minister, 18 ministers, a vice Prime Minister and a Minister for the Relationship with the Parliament. "The Justice Ministry will be led by an independent, in order to ensure that the reforms in the area will continue", said the Social Democrat leader, Mircea Geoana, who convoked the Executive Committee of his party on Thursday.

The designated Prime Minister, Emil Boc, announced earlier on Tuesday that the governmental program and the names of the future minister may be submitted to the Parliament on Friday. "We'll have by Friday the best cabinet Romania had after 1989", said Boc.

Former Justice Minister Monica Macovei suggests in an interview for Die Presse that she is not interested in taking over the Justice portfolio. Macovei emphasized the lack of political will in fighting corruption and denounced those who enter the political stage with the only purpose to gain wealth.

"I was never part of a political party and I don't have any political ambitions. I never regretted having seen from the inside the way the governance functions, but I want to remain independent", said the former Justice Minister.
