The Romanian Parliament adopted on Friday the 2009 budget for Education - the last ministry on the agenda of parliamentary debates on the 2009 budget. Both Senators and Deputies approved an annex to allocate 33,459,000 Romanian Lei to 242 schools, Romanian news agency NewsIn informs.

MPs passed the budget by 203 votes for and 57 against. No Liberal amendments were adopted. According to one of the admitted amendments, some 20,210,000 Romanian Lei were allocated for fundamental research and research-development.

1,000,000 Romanian Lei were allocated to the subventions for students dorms and cantines and 95,000 Romanian Lei to the Cluj Universitary Sports Club at the proposal of Democrat Liberal senator Ion Ariton.
