Prime Minister Emil Boc announced on Tuesday that he asked Foreign Minister Cristian Diaconescu to recall the Romanian consul in Milan, Tiberiu Dinu, for exceeding his prerogatives. Dinu will be heard by Government officials regarding his involvement in recent corruption scandals in Romania.

Dinu's name appeared last week as connected to the scandal that led to the arrest of the head of the Interior Ministry's intelligence service and of a notorious billionaire. According to information that leaked to the media, Dinu demanded an intelligence officer to provide him with the list of phone conversations of Health Minister Ion Bazac, his brother-in-law. Even more, a phone tapping reveals that the former head of intelligence prevented the publishing of a compromising article about Bazac.
