14.95% of Romanian voters showed up at polling stations across the country to cast their ballots in European Parliament elections by 4.00 p.m. on Sunday, the Central Electoral Office announced. The turnout in rural areas nationally stood at 19.26% for the same period, while turnout in urban areas was 11.82%.

The highest turnout was reported in the county of Teleorman (25.4%), followed by the counties of Ilfov (23.9%), Harghita (23.64%) and Mehedinti (23.57%).

Turnout was lowest in the counties of Sibiu (11.32%) and Ialomita (11.43%).
