Liberal Party leader, Crin Antonescu managed to impose his proposals to modify the party's statute. Antonescu won his first battle against his main countercandidate, Ludovic Orban who opted for individual voting. Orban implied that if voting on lists will be approved, he will give up his candidacy.

The Liberal party's central political office decided with 23 votes for, 1 abstain and 1 against that the voting at the Congress should be on lists and not individual, as before. Moreover, the first Deputy President of the Party function was removed, which was occupied by Ludovic Orban.

The Liberal Party's Permanent Delegation is due to meet on Thursday to validate the modifications to the party's statute.
