Dan Voiculescu, leader of the small but influential Conservative Party (PC), said in an interview for Romanian news agency Agerpres on Tuesday that he wanted a "three-way political alliance of Social Democrats [PSD], National Liberals [PNL] and PC, a long term, 5-10 year alliance to cover several electoral cycles".

Voiculescu claimed such an alliance would be the sole alternative to the reign of President Traian Basescu and PM Emil Boc. And he suggested January 31 as a deadline for the accomplishment of such an alliance between opposition parties in Romania's parliament.
