Former head of the Advance Auto Parts company and current US Ambassador to Romania Nicholas Taubman and his wife Jenny have donated 15 million USD to the new Arts Museum in West Virginia, museum officials confirmed, quoted by The Roanoke Times.
The Taubmans became the most important donor for the project, totalling a 66 million USD investment.
New York Times journalists said on Sunday that Taubman intended to donate 25 million but presently the family offered only 15 million.
Jenny Taubman is co-president of the Museum committee concerning major donations. Rumour has it that the museum will be named after them.
The museum has so far received some 52 million dollars from some 200 donors.
