Serb prime minister Vojislav Kostunica demanded the Washington administration to annul the decision of regognizing the independence of Kosovo, adopted last week, the Radio B 92 website informs. According to Ksotunica, the international law regulation would thus be obeyed.

"The United States must annul the decision to recognize a ghost-state formed on Serb territory and create conditions for the UN Security Council to confirm the validity of the UN Security Council resolution 1244, a guarantee for Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity", said Kostunica. "This is the right way to implement again the fundamental principles of the internatyional law ond the UN Charta in the Balkans. Continuing a force policy would only deepen the crisis that undermines the foundation of the world order and threatens the peace and stability", Kostunica added.

The prime minister also thanked the countries which did not recognize Kosovo as a new state. Kostunica will meet on Monday a Russian Federation delegation, led by the most plausible succesor of Putin, Dmitri Medvedev.
