The pilot of a Lufthansa Airbus A 320 avoided a possible catastrophe on the Hamburg airport on Sunday. The plane, with 113 passengers and 4 crew members on board, was caught by storm Emma right when it was trying to land.

The plane was on the verge of crashing, but luckily the experienced pilot decided to take off instead of land, due to severe conditions at the soil, a Lufthansa spokesperson told AFP.

Several minutes later, the pilot managed to land the airplane safely on the same airport. The Emma storm affected several countries in Europe over the weekend. 14 people were killed, with 6 deaths reported in Germany alone.
