Naftogaz Ukraini, the company managing the Russian natural gas transit towards Europe on Ukrainian territory, announced through a telegram that it reduced the gas transit with 60 million cubic meters per day, said the Gazprom spokesman, Sergey Kuprianov, quoted by Gazeta.ru.

The Gazprom provided natural gas was sent towards the Eastern Europe, Kuprianov added. An European Commission official declared that Naftogaz did not inform Brussels on its decision.

An older dispute exists between Russia and Ukraine on the natural gas transit. The Russian energy giant, Gazprom, reduced to 50% the gas deliveries for Ukrainian use at the beginning of this week.
