Andrew Smulian, the British partner of Viktor Bout accused of economically supporting terrorist acts was arrested in New York on Monday, Romanian news agency Mediafax reports. Smulian was questioned by a NY court and was finally arrested.

Smulian, 46, was charged together with Bout in New York last week for having set an arms deal worth million of dollars for Columbian revolutionaries. Prosecutors argue that he was arrested in New York on Friday. If found guilty, Smulian risks a sentence of up to 15 years in prison.

Bout and Smulian worked together to sell arms including rockets and other weapons to Columbian revolutionaries between November 2007 and February 2008.
