On March 13 and 14 Brussels hosts the EU spring summit which is expected to touch upon several key issues: stability of the financial markets after the US subprime crisis, liberalization of the EU energy market (dominated by Russia) and the fight against global warming, international press agencies read.

Romania is represented by an official delegation formed by President Traian Basescu, PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu, Foreign Affairs Minister Adrian Cioroianu, Economy Minister Varujan Vosganian.

PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu has said that during this Summit Romania would support EU's objectives to reduce bureaucracy and CO2 emissions. He said that on Wednesday the government approved the country's mandate for this reunion.
