According to an exit poll study made by the Center on free elections and Democracy in Belgrade, President Boris Tadici's Democrats are likely to win last weekend's general elections with 37.8% of the cast votes as compared to the estimated 28% of the Serbian Radical Party led by Tomislav Nikolic.

Serbia's PM Kostunica's Democratic Party of Serbia would receive 11% of the cast votes, according to the NGOs exit poll while Socialists are registered to receive 8% which offers them the possibility to enter the Parliament.

The elections were seen as vital to the future development and direction of the country, in the context of a possible European Union integration.
