Oppressed Jews in Romania and Bulgaria: victims of the Holocaust

An Israeli Commission decided to acknowledge the Jewish imprisoned in Romania and Bulgaria as victims of the Holocaust. Therefore, they will receive all financial benefits in accordance to this statute, Haaretz reports in its electronic edition.

Up to now, the Israeli state offered increased benefits to those directly oppressed by the Nazi but things have changed since the last decision. Thus, the decision admits that Jews in Romania and Bulgaria were prived of liberty in the Nazi way.
