Romanian provided military equipment to Iraq and Cote d’Ivoire during the past few years, Amnesty International informs in a recent report criticizing the "poorly regulated" situation observed globally in the weaponry trading.

The report mentions that Romania sold 4 attack helicopters (model IAR 330 Puma) to Cote d’Ivoire, a country affected by the conflict between governmental troops and rebels. Weaponry exporting countries include Belarus, Russia, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

Amnesty also criticizes the situation in Iraq, where the instability and abuse continue, also because of the military equipment exports. Despite the effort the US made to offer military equipment to Iraq, Romania and Bulgaria are on the list of ammunition providers of the country.
