American Senators failed to reach an agreement on the 14 billion dollars bailout plan designed to help the three major car producers - Chrysler, General Motors and Ford, CNN informs.

"The U.S. Senate took on the role of Christmas Grinch for autoworkers when it failed on Thursday to pass a $14 billion rescue package for Detroit's three major car manufacturers", Reuters informs.

According to sources in the Democrat party, the negotiations failed after the republicans demanded unions to accept wage decreases.

The White House announced it considers other options to help the American car industry.
