Russia will not stand in the way of the Nabucco project, said the Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin. "We are not part of this project, but we will not attempt to impeach it, either. If there are resources and understandings, let it be done", said Putin, according to Ria Novosti, adding that he sees an opportunity in building a new pipeline branch across Belarus, towards Europe.

Referring to the gas crisis, Putin said that Russia is willing to discuss with Ukraine at all levels. Putin added that Russia does not oppose Romania's participation in the South Stream project and, even more, is willing to provide gas to Romania without interims.

"We are ready to put Ukraine's gas demand at your disposal and you can sell it then to Ukraine", said Putin.
