The two Romanian victims, Dorina and Cristinel, mother and child who lost their lives in an improvised house in Rome's outskirts were buried at the Santa Maria Regina Pacis in Ostia, near Rome. Some 150 people, friends, relatives, Romanian and Italians alike joined the ceremony to support the father.

The ceremony was conducted by Father George Militaru, together with another 3 priests from the Romanian Orthodox Church in Ostia. The sermon was held in Italian and appealed to those present to humanitarian acts in the name of faith.

Several representatives of the Romanian authorities were present from Romania's Consulate in Rome, Ramona Badescu - Romanian counselor to Rome's Mayor Gianni Alemanno and members of the Romanian associations in Rome together with members of the Sant'Egidio community.
