Romanians form the largest community of immigrants in Italian capital Rome, with 100,000 people of Romanian origin residing there officially, according to a new study on immigration presented in Rome on Wednesday.

The figures relate to the number of Romanians listed in the registries of the Rome city hall of surrounding towns by December 31, 2007. By the time, 92.258 Romanians lived legally in the Italian capital, meaning 28.7% of the total number of foreigners registered there. The second largest community is Filipino (25,888 people), while Poles formed the third largest such community (18,151).
