A new earthquake was reported in Italy on Tuesday, which was felt in Aquila, stricken by a quake a day ago, as well as in Rome, according to the AFP. Another earthquake was felt in Portugal, off the shores of Madeira Islands.

According to experts, the latest Italy quake, which comes as the toll of the Aquila quake on Sunday night exceeded 220 dead, measured 5.5 on Richter scale.

The aftershock led to the collapse of several buildings in the medieval town of L'Aquila, according to AFP.
