Ukraine to increase military presence at the Danube Delta

Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko declared that his country will consolidate both its economic and military presence at the Danube Delta, nearby the Bastroe channel. He added that he will re-establish Ukraine's military presence in the region, newspapers in Kiev read. The President, according to the newspapers, will propose an inter-state collaboration with Romania to use the Danube common sector.

Ukraine's economic activity in the Ukrainian side of the Danube Delta is a sovereign right of the country, Viktor Yushcenko declared in a press conference. He rejected the accusations that through its economic activity, Ukraine could lead to the destruction of the ecologic equilibrium of the region.
