Romania's Foreign Affairs minister Cristian Diaconescu criticized the EU in an official visit to London for its policies towards the Republic of Moldova and urged for some sanctions against Moldova's human rights infringements during the anti-Communist street protests, British daily Financial Times informs.

Diaconescu declared that Brussels's policy towards Moldova has to change since Moldova breached EU values and its cooperation agreement with the EU. Diaconescu's reaction was criticized by the newspaper and tagged as unusual for a Foreign Affairs ministry.

Diaconescu declared that Romania is not satisfied with EU's policy towards Moldova as it did not sanction nor declared its intention to sanction Moldova for its behavior.
