Three campaigns put together by three Romanian advertising agencies have made it into Cannes Lions advertising festival final. The festival's 56th edition, currently taking place in Cannes, sees Romanian agencies Arsenoaiei&Matasel, Grey Bucharest and Leo Burnett&Target on the finalists' list.

The finalists were announced for seven out of the 11 categories. Running for the PR categoryand for the first time at the festival, Romanian Arsenoaiei%Matasel agency was listed under "Best Use of Live Events and/or Celebrity Endorsement", with its campaign "Accidents can happen to anyone", commissioned by the Police in Bucharest.

Grey Bucharest was nominated with "Punk" and "Graffiti" commissioned by Eastpack for Outdoor category, under "Point of Purchase: Small Scale".

Leo Burnett&Target qualified under "Best Use of Special Events&Stunt/Live Advertising" and "Travel, Entertainment&Leisure" for the Media category, with "The Dinosaur Exhibition", commissioned by Grigore Antipa Museum.

None of the Romanian agencies made on the lists for Direct, Promo, Radio and Press categories. The finalists for Cyber, Design, Film and Titanium&Integrated have not been yet announced.

Cannes Lions 56th edition is taking place in June 21-27. This year, the event attracted 20% less projects than it did in 2008. The attending public is expecting to be 40% less numerous, according to Brand Republic.
