Americans needs to wait a long while until Russia will exceed the profound skepticism related to their anti-missile shield but this does not affect the efforts to reset relations, Deputy of the American Defense minister, Alexander Vershbow declared in an interview for Reuters.
Moscow urged several times clarifications from Washington regarding the concrete plans of the country in Europe and expressed its surprise when Romania offered in February to host the shield.
Information that Bulgaria expressed its availability to host some parts of the defense system worried Russia even more. Vershbow said that Washington never asked Bulgaria anything related to this. Moreover, he added that Moscow was well aware of the fact that Romania was among US's options.
