In Romanian thousands of state employed gathered on the streets to protest against the government's decision to cut salaries and pensions. It is estimated that over 30,000 people gathered at the protest against the 25% salary cut and the 15% pension cut - measures announced recently by the government, BBC informs.

Unions however argue that common people have to suffer because of the politicians' irresponsible governance. Romania plans to decrease its fiscal deficit from 7.2 percentage points in 2008 to 6.8 percentage points in 2011, Euronews reads.
