Republic of Moldova: 1,500 evacuees, after river Prut flooded

Over 1,500 residents of Cotul Morii village from the Hancesti rayon of the Republic of Moldova are being evacuated today, after the Prut River came out of its bed and flooded several households at the edge of the village, announced.

Local council declared that senior residents have been evacuated on Tuesday evening and taken to the Medical Centre from Nemteni village.

The villagers tried to save some of their belongings transporting their poultry and animals to relatives from other villages to relatives.
