Authorities in the Republic of Moldova confiscated on Tuesday about two kilograms of radioactive substance Uranium-238 from a group of traffickers including former servants of the Interior Ministry, police have announced, as quoted by AFP.

The police found 1.8 kilos of radioactive substance in a garage in Chisinau, a spokesman for the ministry said.

The suspects have been arrested, the spokesman said, adding that the group was formed of seven people, two of which were former employees of the Interior Ministry, now retired.
