French President Nicolas Sarkozy declared on Tuesday night, in an interview that gypsies were not stigmatized when they were repatriated, but the issue was to respect the law, Le Point reads.

Sarkozy underlined that repatriations were made respecting the law, without considering the nationality of those repatriated. France repatriated over 8,000 Romanian gypsies and Bulgarians and destroyed hundreds of illegal camps, Romanian news agency Mediafax informs.
