EPP Conservative group in the European Parliament, demanded France and Germany to give a “powerful political signal” to Romania and Bulgaria regarding their perspectives to adhere to Schengen, AFP informs. EPP group considers it necessary to send a political message to Bulgaria and Romania to ensure that perspectives are correct and explicit.

EPP considers that it is of the utmost importance to offer Romania and Bulgaria a perspective to join Schengen in the future. If efforts are accelerated, the two countries have every chance to join Schengen in 2011, the letter addressed to the German and French Interior ministers, reads. The letter is signed by the EPP vice president, Manfred Weber.
