A 51 year old Romanian died on Thursday, in Rome, after throwing himself off the Vittoriano monument, as Italians were celebrating 150 years since Italy’s unification, HotNews.ro correspondent reports.
The place of the tragedy is a few hundred meters away from the Column of Traian and the event took place at 5 PM, local time. The Romanian had a travelling bag and his passport with him. Doctors arriving at the scene attempted to save him, but there was nothing they could do. For now, the reason of the Romanian’s gesture is unknown.
