Anti graft prosecutors are conducting nine house searches in West Romania targeting an organized crime group of 14 people, Romania and Serbian citizens specialized in smuggling cigarettes a press release reads. An employee of the Republic of Congo in Serbia was also involved in the organized crime.

The cigarettes were introduced through the Moravita customs West Romania by Bombeto Pascaline Esther and her husband, diplomat Marc Marius Itela Elombola, working at the Cong Embassy to Serbia. The two were using an official diplomatic car to avoid and checks at the customs.
