Main leaders and communicators of the governing Social Democratic Party (PSD) will counteract Belina file, which focuses on irregularities in which PSD leader Liviu Dragnea appears to be involved, with a joint message in the media in the next few days. According to several sources within the PSD, the message will portray Liviu Dragnea as a victim of a plan of his political opponents.

Thus, PSD leaders will go public with set messages from central level this weekend. The big lines of communication have been seen since Friday, after Romania's anti-graft prosecutors, the DNA, announced the commencement of a criminal investigation against top ministers Sevil Shhaideh and Rovana Plumb, accused of having illegally crossed island Belina in southern Romania from the state patrimony to that of the Teleorman county council. Subsequently, Belina reached a firm of Liviu Dragnea’s son.

Klaus Iohannis would be a target of PSD communicators: the president will be accused that under public pressure of changing Laura Codruta Kovesi from head of DNA, he triggers, with the help of Eduard Hellvig, the head of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), a campaign of "political liquidation" against Liviu Dragnea. The leaders of PSD will have the task of saying that Liviu Dragnea is the only political opponent of Klaus Iohannis.

Other top targets of PSD's communication campaign will be DNA head Laura Codruta Kovesi, Romanian Ambassador to US George Mayor, due to be accused of aiming to take over the reins within the PSD, as well as rebellious former PSD PM Victor Ponta, former top SRI officer Florian Coldea.
