Romania's Health minister Florian Dorel Bodog appears to have plagiarized 147 of the 232 pages of his PhD thesis in economics, entitled "Management and marketing of sanitary units", which he held at West University of Timisoara (UVT) in 2008, writes Romanian journalist Emilia Sercan for Pressone.ro. Minister Bodog reacted by saying that he complied with all the ethical and professional standards and that the suspect segments of his thesis were originally his, and he allowed them to be used in other educational papers.

Two of the books from which he massively copied are signed, one by his personal counselor - the dean of a college from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, and another by a colleague - associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of the University of Oradea, according to the PressOne report.

The PhD in Economics Sciences is the second such title that Minister Bodog holds, the first being in Medical Sciences, which he obtained at the University of Oradea in 2001.

Journalist Emilia Sercan has gained massive reputation after discovering the plagiarized PhD works of several high profile ROmanian politicians and heads of public institutions.
