AXN television representatives in London and Budapest officially announced on Tuesday the removal of the suicidal squirrels cartoons broadcast during daytime in Romania. Television officials apologized in the name of the company if any child saw the cartoons and admitted that two other cartoon clips depicting a masturbating extraterrestrial superhero, which was also broadcast during daytime, was withdrawn from the daytime schedule of the channel.
The two clips, belonging to the "Superhero Roommate" series, portrayed an alien masturbating in front of a men's magazine.
AXN airs in Central Europe with a license obtained in Britain. Its legal representative is based in Budapest.
AXN general manager Stephen White said that the programs were completely out of line in prime time and declared that the company has decided to train all personnel in the region to be up to date with each country's legislation.
