The traditional attributes of Romanian products will be registered and protected both in Romania and in the European Union. The Agriculture Ministry is due to release the registration procedures within a week. All registration costs will be supported by producers.

Agriculture minister Dacian Ciolos announced on Wednesday that any Romanian producer may demand the registration and protection of its traditional products. "In fact, a specific recipe is protected, whoever produces the goods and wherever the raw matters come from", said minister Ciolos, who also announced the future opening of a National Office for Traditional Products.
