Some 424 towns across Romania have no family doctor and 1,098 towns have not enough family doctors for their population, the national federation of family doctors has announced.

It showed the deficit affected 1,522 villages, towns and cities across the country.

Romania has been affected by a lack of personnel in the medical sector for years as many have chosen to seek a better living in Western EU countries.
