The number of offences committed by Romanians in the United Kingdom increased 800 timed after Romania joined the European Union in 2007, The Daily Mail informs, quoted by Rador.

The British Police claim they can not handle the unprecedented crime wave. Statistics indicate a rate of 339 offences per month in London, after counting only 30 in 2006. Most cases refer to pickpockets, officer Bernie Gravett declared. "We confront a new type of offence: illegal exploitation of children coming from foreign poor families", he explained. Bernie Gravett says he was shocked to find out that 126 Romanian children caught stealing in London were investigated already in other 32 communities in the United Kingdom.

Another officer explained that true networks were formed, buying children for only 200 euro from poor Romanian families, then taking them to the UK. According to officers, these networks gain some 100,000 UK pounds sterling with each child and used even six-year olds.
