Romania's proclaimed Pavarotti, Costel Busuioc has won the final of the Spanish show Hijos de Babel with a total of 46 points. The Romanian lead the show from the beginning. Costel sang his favorite play, Nessum Dorma for which he received an 8 from the jury and a 10 from the public which helped him secure the first place.

Costel, a Romanian construction worker, said that he would like to move to Spain permanently as an acknowlegment of the opportunity Spain gave him. Costel has been working in constructions for two years now but has charmed those watching the show.

Despite his voice quality, Costel refused an offer to study Canto at the Vienna Opera school since he needed money to provide for his wife and four children. As a consequence of his success, however, Costel signed a contract with the famous records company Sony.
