Russian President Vladimir Putin will arrive in Bucharest today at 8pm to attend the NATO Russia Council reunion tomorrow. Most probably, the Russian leader will not meet his American counterpart for a private discussion in Bucharest, local television Antena 3 announces.

According to the Russian Foreign Affairs Serghey Lavrov, Putin will discuss Kosovo's independence and NATO expansion. The leader will attend for the first time a NATO reunion. Moreover, it is the first Russian President to visit Romania after 1990.

However, Putin did not officially confirm any bilateral meeting. After the Summit, Putin will fly back to Russia, at Soci where he will meet US President George W. Bush to talk about the missile shield Americans plan to set up in Europe.
